The game against Wray opened with Limon receiving the kickoff. The Badgers got an excellent return from Liam Yoder, who brought the ball back 35 yards and put Limon in great position to start the game. Camdyn Tacha quickly made his presence known with a 5-yard run, and Yoder followed with three more carries to move the chains.
The Badgers soon turned that field position into points. Quarterback Joe White handed the ball to Tacha, who broke free for a 15-yard touchdown run. Roberto Sontay added the extra point, giving Limon an early 7-0 lead in the first quarter.
Wray tried to answer from its own 23-yard line, but the Badger defense quickly proved difficult to handle. Dylan Rockwell made a stop before leaving the play with an injury, and Limon continued to pressure Wray until the Eagles were forced to punt.
On the return, a facemask penalty against Wray gave the Badgers extra yards. White then connected with Macael Barry on a 30-yard completion, and Brady Trim added a 5-yard run. After a fumble scare that Rockwell recovered, White found Trim for Limon’s second touchdown. Sontay’s extra point was good, extending the Badgers’ lead to 14-0.
Wray started again at its own 20-yard line, looking for momentum, but Riley Davis helped bring the drive to a quick stop. The first quarter ended with the Badgers leading 14-0.
Limon kept control in the second quarter after taking over on downs. Tacha ran for another first down, and Trim followed with a 35-yard touchdown run. Sontay’s kick was good again, pushing the Badgers ahead 21-0.
The Limon defense went right back to work as Wray started at its own 15-yard line. Davis and Ben Carr helped keep the Eagles from going far, and a wall of Badgers stopped any forward progress to force fourth-and-13 and another punt. After a few stalled plays, White connected with Barry for a 50-yard touchdown pass. Sontay added the extra point, giving Limon a 28-0 lead.
The Badgers’ kickoff again pinned Wray deep, with the Eagles starting at their own 20-yard line. Limon’s defense quickly forced another punt, and Carlos Nunez broke through the line to block it. The play gave the Badgers excellent field position, and Yoder finished the short drive with a 4-yard touchdown run. Sontay’s kick made it 35-0.
More incomplete passes and stops by C. Nunez gave the Badgers the ball back. Yoder carried for gains of 8, 15 and 5 yards, while Trim added another strong run. A personal foul penalty against Limon brought the ball back, and the drive eventually ended on downs.
Wray turned to the passing game and drew a roughing-the-passer penalty, but the Badgers responded. Carr broke through the line and sacked the Wray quarterback, helping bring the first half to a close with Limon leading 35-0.
Coming out of halftime, the Badgers recovered an onside kick when Dominic Nunez secured the ball, setting Limon up at the 45-yard line. White connected with Grant Masterson for a 7-yard completion before Trim broke loose for a 24-yard touchdown run. The extra-point attempt turned into an improvised play after the snap sailed over Rockwell’s head, but Rockwell reacted quickly and completed a pass to Yoder for the two-point conversion. The score moved to 43-0, starting the running clock for the rest of the game.
Wray continued to struggle to get its offense moving, and Parker Harris helped shut down the run game. Several younger Badgers also saw playing time, including Connor McCormick, who made a big stop. Wesley Denne recovered a fumble, and Cecil McAtee added a 13-yard run before the end of the third quarter. Limon still led 43-0.
In the fourth quarter, Harris gained 2 yards, and Rockwell connected with Parker Lacik for a 3-yard completion. The Badgers came up short of the first down, however, and Wray took over on downs.
Harris continued to make strong stops. On one play, the ball came loose, but Wray maintained possession after the runner was ruled down before the fumble. Charlie Hoose made his presence felt late, combining with Harris on a stop, before sacking the Wray quarterback.
The Badgers took over once more as Harris broke off a 15-yard run. McAtee followed with gains of 8 and 3 yards to pick up a first down, and McCormick added 2 more yards as the clock ran out. Limon finished with a 43-0 win, adding another check mark to the win column.
